November 2009 Newsletter

TAILGATE –FOOTBALL- Redskins vs Dallas Cowgirls!!:  A new venue has been decided for the club’s tailgate this year.    The tailgate will be inside at Primo’s Restaurant on November 22, 2009.  It will be from noon until 5pm, the game begins at 1pm.   This is a family function!!   Bring your friends!!    Tailgate food will be served.    Big screen TVs.    Cost is $20 all you can eat, with $1 drafts and $9 pitchers.     This tailgate will be in lieu of our December meeting!!!    Jim Martin will be forwarding more info to the membership.

Strategic Planning Committee: The board of directors will be sending periodic email questionnaires to the membership.    This will be for purposes of developing a future strategic plan for the club.   This committee is chaired by Kirk Petrovic and Rick Genuario.   Please contact them if you are interested in working on this project.

Carl Sandburg Field Sponsorship: The FHSA is working with Jay McConnville and the FHYAA  on this project.

New Website - www.forthuntsportsman.com is receiving a “facelift” and should be ready by the end of this month.   If you have content for the site please contact Mike Sigda at msigda1@verizon.net.

New Budget Approved:  The FHSA members and board of directors have approved a new budget for our fiscal year which goes from 10/09 until 9/10; with donation amounts in $14,800 to various area youth athletic organizations.

October 2009 Newsletter

Redskin Raffle Fundraiser Results: The board of directors would like to thank everyone for participating in this year’s annual fundraiser. This year we raised over $5000 dollars that will benefit local area youth athletics. The winner of this year’s raffle for a pair of Redskin season tickets was Mike Sharp (his wife and 3 young children) live in Williamsburg Manor.

Strategic Planning Committee: The board of directors has formed a strategic planning committee to help develop a mission statement and advise on the direction the club should be pursuing in 2010. This committee is chaired by Kirk Petrovic and Rick Genuario. Please contact them if you are interested in working on this project.

Carl Sandburg Field Sponsorship: The FHSA has been asked to be cosponsors with FHYAA for the Carl Sandburg Stadium field. More information on this to come over the next few months.

New Website Coming!!- www.forthuntsportsman.com will be receiving a “facelift” over the next month. The chair for this renovation is Mike Sigda.

Redskins Cheerleaders Help Sell Raffle Tickets

The Redskins Cheerleaders joined forces with The Fort Hunt Sportsmen for the 2007 Raffle. Many locals came by the Sportsmen's tent to meet the cheerleaders and to buy raffle tickets. Their raffle donations go to support local youth sports charities.
