Redskins & Nationals Tickets Raffle: The 2006 Raffle Season ended with contributions topping those of 2005 (but, not by much!). Street Sales were improved and we added new sponsors, while maintaining most of last year's sponsors. I hand-delivered the Nationals and Redskins tickets to the winners and had photos taken for the Mount Vernon Voice and Mount Vernon Gazette, providing free advertising and goodwill for the Club. One winner had been buying tickets for 16 years, while the other was playing for the first time. Richard McFarland sold one of the winning tickets, while Chase Maglin sold the other. The Nationals tickets Raffle was deemed a success and will be used again in the 2007 Raffle Season. See photos

We are seeking links to The Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association and other related websites. The 2006 FHSA Golf Tournament: The Golf Tournament at Fort Belvoir will now be Thursday, October 26th with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm. Cocktails and a complete steak dinner will be served after completion of play. Door prizes will be raffled off and Award prizes will be presented as well. Rick Genuario, with the help of Lee Gilmore and Robert Hines are coordinating. Let's push to make this a big event - check your schedules and make a few phone calls to your golfing friends. The proceeds from this event go to our local youth sports organizations. Contact Rick Genuario at Rick@genuariocompanies.com to sign-up.
The October Membership Meeting IS the Golf Tournament. In November, we will host the Membership Meeting back at one of our local restaurants - place TBA.
Personal: I'll be serving as your President for this year and I'm looking forward to a fun year of activities and camaraderie. I'd like to thank Jim Martin for volunteering for the "VP" spot. Jim is another of our officers that has served as President and VP before and has really stepped-up to help us out...so, "Thanks, Jim!" - and "Thanks to all of our volunteers that help make the Club operate".
