Raffle Wrap-Up: The Club provided framed certificates for all of the Sportsmen's Raffle sponsors and sent their names to the local newspapers so that they will have some 'community-minded business' recognition. Our sponsors provide about 50% of our raffle income and certainly deserve the Club's gratitude.
Point Totals are being tabulated and will be published as soon as they are complete.
Club Dues: If you have not paid club dues for 2007, they are up. Where else will $20 buy you so much fun? See our Sergeant-at-Arms, Frank Gulino at any Membership Meeting or contact him at Yajoe@aol.com for details on how to get dues to him. Dues go to administrative expenses and help subsidize events. Any excess goes into our donation fund.
FHSA Website: Contact Scott Daley, our webmaster at scott.daley@navy.mil if you have anything that you would like to see on the site. We're always looking for interesting club-related photos or submitted write-ups. Please check our website and share with others - especially those that may have an interest in joining our Club. It's http://www.forthuntsportsmen.com
The 2006 FHSA Golf Tournament: The Golf Tournament at Fort Belvoir took place on October 26th and was a big success. We had a lot of fun and were able to raise money that will be added to our donation budget. Rick Genuario was our gracious host and we will provide more details in a separate newsletter.
The November Membership Meeting is at Peking Duck on Route One on November 9th. Cocktails at 7:00pm and Dinner at 8:00.
Redskins Tailgate Party: Took place Sunday, November 5th at Fed Ex Field and was hosted by Robert Hines. Details to be provided in the December Newsletter.
"On the Horizon" - The Club's next big event will be the Valentine's Dance in February. This is a popular event (even in the snow) and should not be missed.
Personal: The Club's Board and Officers welcomes your participation in our meetings and events. Without members' participation, we are simply a youth sports charity. We are much more than that. We would like to see more members participating more often. The fun, the stale jokes and the camaraderie don't happen if YOU are not there...so join us. Redskins' analysis & discussion is encouraged!
Thanks!
Joe Gililland
President, Fort Hunt Sportsmen's Association
