Annual FHSA Valentines Dance: Please make plans NOW for the Annual FHSA Valentines Dance. Our most popular annual event is scheduled for Saturday, February 10th at the Mount Vernon Country Club. Dinner, dancing and door prizes...
so don't miss out on this fun event. Cocktails from 6:30 to 7:30; dinner 7:45 to 9:00 and dancing until 11:30. Our loyal and trustworthy point-of-contact is Harry Shackelford and the tickets are $60 per person - a great price for a full, fun evening. You can pay in advance for the event at the January membership meeting or make arrangements with Harry @ HShackelford1@cox.net.
The January Membership Meeting For the January Membership Meeting, on Thursday, January 11th, we are going to try something new. We are going to meet at Vasso's Kitchen on Powhatan Street in north Old Town (Directions: Going north on Washington Street almost to the GW Parkway north, enter the left turn lane at the traffic light at Powhatan Street - go left and the restaurant is on your right approx. ¾ of mile. It is a one-story brick building). You area old-timers may remember the location as the Old Town Dixie Pig from years ago. Enjoy cocktails at 7:00pm and Dinner at 8:00. Dinner is a Greek steak dish at the bargain price of $16 a person. Price includes appetizers, salad, entree, and dessert. Come out and join us while we check out this new location.
2007 Club Dues: Please provide $20 to our Sergeant-at-Arms, Frank Gulino, at any Membership Meeting or contact him at Yajoe@aol.com for details on how to get your dues to him. Dues go to administrative expenses and help subsidize events.
FHSA Website: We're always looking for interesting club-related photos or submitted write-ups. Contact Scott Daley, our webmaster @ scott.daley@navy.mil if you have anything that you would like to see on the site. Check the site for yourself; it's http://www.forthuntsportsmen.com
Personal: We hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas & New Years holidays and are ready for a great 2007. The Club's Board and Officers have noticed an increase in participation in our membership meetings and would like to see this trend continue. Don't miss out on our fun and informal membership meetings every second Thursday of each month - and don't miss the big Valentines Dance in February!
Thanks!
Joe Gililland
President, Fort Hunt Sportsmen's Association
