August 2006 Newsletter

The Fort Hunt Sportsmen Association's board of directors would like to present its next year's unit consisting of: (President) Joe Gililland, (Vice President) Jim Martin, (Secretary) Chick Little, (Treasurer) Bob Wade, (Past President) Lee Gilmore, (Sargeant-at-Arms) Frank Gulino, Scott Daley, Robert Hines, Richard McFarland, Wayne Self, Crag Manigilia, Harry Shackelford, and Rick Genuario.

  • Our new website is http://www.forthuntsportsmen.com. A special thanks to Jason Hart (nephew of Rick Genuario) who has helped the board develop a foundation for this website. Scott Daley will serve as the club's webmaster. The website is very exciting, please pass it to a friend.

  • The annual Redskin season ticket raffle kick-off was on June 17, 2006. Joe Gililland is this year's raffle chairman. This year besides raffling off a pair of Redskin season tickets; we will also raffle off a pair of National baseball tickets for a selected group of games. These games will be: Mets 8/12, Braves 8/16, Diamond Backs 9/2, Brewers 9/16, and the Mets 9/30. In order to accommodate for these new tickets; there will be 2 drawings this year; 8/10/06(membership meeting) and 9/7/06. The National ticket winners will be drawn in August and the Redskin ticket winners in September. Purchase your raffle tickets prior to 8/10/06 and you will be eligible for both raffles. For tickets please contact Joe Gililland at; Jgililland@anteon.com .

  • The Redskin cheerleaders will help with street sales on Saturday, August 26; from 9-12noon. They will be in front Village Hardware Store, at Hollin Hall Shopping Center. Thanks to Larry Gray, Hollin Hardware for helping to sponsor this year's event.

  • The 3rd Annual F.H.S.A golf tournament will be held on Friday October 13, 2006 at Fort Belvoir Golf Club.

  • The first part of this year's raffle in which National's tickets will be raffled off will be on Thursday August 10, 2006 at Mike's Italian Restaurant, starting at 7pm. This is our monthly meeting. Cocktails at 7pm and Dinner at 8pm.
