The Annual Redskins Raffle Drawing
On the evening of September 7th, the Fort Hunt Sportsmen's Association wrapped-up their successful 2006 Raffle Season by drawing the winning ticket. Chris Caputo, Assistant Head Coach of the NCAA Final Four George Mason Basketball team and guest speaker at the occasion, pulled the winning raffle ticket belonging to Mr. Charlie Williams. Mr. Williams, a Groveton resident, was notified by phone that he won two season tickets to the Washington Redskins, but was unable to pick-up the tickets. A late-night home delivery was quickly arranged and Mr. Williams was very pleased with his prize (see picture). Mr. Williams, a singer and actor, said "I've never won a prize like this before." He is a customer of the Hollin Hall Barber Shop and bought a package of 6 tickets for $5 just a few weeks before the drawing.
